iPad 3 Release Date March 16, 2012

With AllThingsD predicting Apple’s announcement of the all new iPad 3 on Wednesday, March 7, we too are going to go out on a gadgety limb and call out Friday, March 16th, 2012 as the actual release date, given previous Apple tablet release cycles.
If AllThingsD is correct, on March 7 Apple will host a special iPad 3 announcement ceremony in San Francisco, and the actual tablet should become available one week after this event.  Clever, huh?  Well, don’t give us the MacArthur yet, we’re just following previous sequences of Apple events, but we’ll take a lollipop…
Other big ticket news items that are of-the-moment are 4G LTE capabilities, Retina Display, an A6 processor with quad-core capabilities, rumors of a smaller iPad that we heard so much about earlier this year … the iPad Mini or so-called iPad 4. More about this below, along with iPad 3 features and specs. First, the reason why Apple CEO Tim Cook thinks the iPad is what it is based on today’s comments at a Goldman Sachs Technology & Internet conference:
“The reason the iPad’s ramp has been so large in my view is that the iPad has stood on the shoulders of everything that came before it — the iTunes store, the iPhone. People trained on these products so by the time the iPad launched it was intuitive to use. I gave one to my mother and she knew how to use it, like this, just from watching the commercial” he said, according to AllThingsD.
